I’m flattered at the amount of requests and questions I’ve received regarding my skin. This is something I’ve been getting inquiries about for SO long and there is a reason I haven’t shared it before now. To be 100% honest, I didn’t have a “routine” per say. I never actually tried to do anything with my skin but attempt to get rid of dark allergy lines on my nose (which are just about invisible now).
I was just blessed with these genes by my mother, so I thought. For the most part, I have a normal skin type but as I've aged, the dryer my skin became in areas. My eczema definitely started to appear more often this winter. This was a red flag for me to buckle down and start caring for my skin. My usual cleanser and daily moisturizer wasn’t cutting it anymore.
It’s only been in the last 6 months that I’ve started using a certain combination of products that I have fallen in LOVE with and use just about every single day. I didn’t want to share a skincare routine with you guys until I had a system down that I love and feel truly helps my skin. Some vitamin C products have always been included on a daily bases so the Derma E Vitamin C Collection just fell into my hands. All Derma E products are 100% vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-free, sulfate-free, mineral oil-free, lanolin-free, gluten free, and GMO-free.
Vitamin C also helps guard your skin from the damage that can be caused by the sun’s UV rays. By promoting collagen health, Vitamin C for skin is trans-formative, creating a complexion that looks bright and vibrant.
My Current Skin Routine:
Step 1: Derma E Brightening Cleanser, 6 Fl Oz $12.40 @ Walmart
Cleansing. First I cleanse my face with the Derma E Vitamin C Brightening Cleanser. I L O V E this cleanser, it gets ALL of my makeup off and it’s super gentle. I’ve used cleansers in the past where I feel like I still have makeup on my face afterwards but this cleanser gets everything off! My face feels so smooth after using it! This skin-brightening, pH balanced facial cleanser is a must!
Step 2: Derma E Radiance Toner, 6 Fl Oz $9.50 @ Walmart
Toning. I used to skip this step but I recently added the Derma E Essentials Radiance Toner into my routine and I have been loving it. I apply it to a cotton pad and sweep gently over my face and neck after cleansing, avoiding my eyes. I use this in the morning and evening to prep my skin for my Derma E Moisturizer. This alcohol-free, exfoliating, beauty toner helps to tone, tighten and brighten for a soft, smooth and luminous appearance.
(Enriched with: Glycolic Acid—helps to reveal brighter, fresher skin; Rooibos—helps to detox encouraging healthy skin; Rosehip Extract—helps to brighten and rejuvenate skin.)
Step 3: Derma E Vitamin C Concentrated Serum $14.95 @ ULTA online only, $19.60 @ Walmart
Serum! Derma-E Brightening Serum. It can be pricey but I’m a firm believer that you shouldn’t be cheap when it comes to skincare, after all, you only have one face to work with! After cleansing and toning, pump serum onto your fingertips and apply to your face and neck, gently massaging into skin in circular motions.
This serum targets uneven pigmentation and age damage at the source with this intensive skin-brightening, oil-free treatment serum. It’s ideal for skin showing signs of uneven pigmentation, discoloration, sun damage, freckles, age spots and dark spots. Vitamin C serums are the real thing if you want to even out your skin tone, minimize the look of pores, reduce ageing signs, brighten skin, and manage breakouts.
Step 4: Vitamin C Intense Night Cream 2 Oz. $18.00, Day Cream $23.96 @ Walmart
Moisturize! This is probably the most important step, aside from washing my face every night. It’s all about hydration! I’ve been using Derma E brightening day cream and intense night cream and I swear by it! It keeps my face hydrated all day and night. I apply it after my serum.
For extra moisturizer: I use the VITAL C hydrating enzyme masque by IMAGE ($27.99 @ Amazon.com; $34.00@ skin.imageskincare.com) 1-2 times per week. It infuses skin with protective antioxidants and vitamins that nourish and promote healthy looking skin.
FACIAL AT HOME: I apply a hot towel on my face or use my steamer to cleanse and fully open my pores before moisturizing. Apply a generous amount of VITAL C hydrating enzyme masque to face. Leave on 15-30 minutes. I then rinse the masque off with tepid water and splash with cool water following.
Well that concludes my current skin regimen guys! If I find anymore products for normal to dry skin, I will definitely share them! It’s important to figure out what your skin type is before establishing a daily routine.
